We can definitely help you with your custom build. If you don't quite have the design figured out we now offer a Custom Cue Rendering service for $150 which gets figured into the total cost of the project. This service allows you to see a custom design that we come up with together before it ever gets built. Jacoby's graphic designer would correspond with you via email or phone call regarding design ideas until you are happy with the initial concept. Using this concept and professional design software, a digital version is created of the design and presented to you for approval. You get two renderings in case you would like to change anything about the design. Any additional renderings are an added $50 each. Click the link below to see some of the renderings that have been created for customers who have utilized this service:

These are new products that come out of the shop which don't quite meet our high standards of perfection due to a cosmetic flaw of some kind. Since there is nothing physically wrong hindering functionality, it would be an incredible waste to simply toss these products in the garbage so we sell these products as "seconds". These products bear no logos or warranties and are considerably less expensive. You will need to contact our shop to see if we have anything in stock that will suit your needs. You will find many theories about cleaning a carbon shaft. Here's what Jacoby Custom Cues recommends for any Jacoby BlaCk Carbon shaft; Use a clean, soft, dry cloth preferably a microfiber cloth to wipe it down after each use before you put it back in your case. This practice should keep most of the chalk and grime from your hands off the shaft. Every other month get a soft paper towel moist with isopropyl alcohol and wipe it down, let it dry, then wipe again with your dry microfiber cloth. We highly recommend AGAINST using any abrasive cleaning agents or abrasive cloth. If you need anything other than the typical care mentioned previously, please send your shaft in to us and let the professionals take care of you.
We recommend using a clean, soft, dry cloth preferably a microfiber cloth to wipe it down after each use before you put it back in your case. This practice should keep most of the chalk and grime from your hands off the shaft. Of course, keeping your hands clean while using your cue is always a good idea.
Depending on how often you use it and how dirty it gets, send your shaft in to us or bring it in to our shop and have it reconditioned. If you use the shaft daily and keep it relatively clean as mentioned previously, you would need to recondition your Jacoby wood shaft every 4 to 6 months, or around the same time as having a new tip installed.
There happens to be a big difference between the V3 & V4 carbon shafts. The Jacoby V4 BlaCk Shaft was completely redesigned from joint to ferule. To begin with, the uni-directional carbon tube wall was made thinner at 0.9mm to produce a more "tonal feel" while at the same time allowing the shaft to flex for incredibly low deflection. The fill used inside the carbon tube was re-engineered to be a softer, more "absorbent" expanding foam-rubber, as the Jacoby V3 and earlier versions utilized a rigid expanding foam fill. Most of the more popular carbon shafts on the market use some sort of metal weight inside the shaft for various reasons while the Jacoby V4 contains a silicone-rubber silencer installed where the Pro-Taper ends. The V4 Joint is created from a proprietary Plastic/Resin compound which is machined and fused to the carbon tube with the highest grade industrial epoxy. The ferule is 0.150” White Hydex 202 and holds a Kamui Soft Black Clear tip with a durometer (hardness) rating of 70-74. All of these things combine to produce a carbon shaft that feels like wood while retaining all of the benefits of carbon. The video below explains this in detail.

We can try however, we would need a clear image of the entire butt of the cue in order to identify the materials it was made with. Keep in mind that there is no way for us to appraise a cue from looking at a picture and we can only provide a cost estimate to replace the cue, brand new, at todays market price. If you need an exact appraisal amount you would need to bring it into our shop.
Sometimes our custom cues get sold before we have a chance to photograph them and enter them into the archives. That being said, if you can provide us with a clear picture of the entire butt of the cue we can probably identify the materials used in making it and what it would cost to replace it new at todays market price.
